Kappa Kappa Psi
Kappa Kappa Psi: Kappa Kappa Psi is a national honorary band fraternity founded as a service and leadership recognition group. The goals of this organization are to not only provide the band with service activities, but to give each member experiences in leadership, organization, and social contacts, and to help the band program maintain its high standards.
The Iota Pi chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi at Cal Poly is a co-ed chapter which enjoys a reputation with the National Headquarters as one of the outstanding up and coming groups. In its two years of existence, the Iota Pi chapter has earned many distinctions, including the awarding of the J. Lee Burke National Award, the highest honor bestowed to an active member for service, to one of its founding members. Currently two members are serving as Western District Officers as well.
The heart and soul of the Cal Poly group has been the support it gives to the band program and Music Department. Iota Pi sponsors numerous service activities, including the Festival of Bands and the initiation of a scholarship award to recognize outstanding musicians in the Music Department.
