Pay “Music Use” fee of $20 to Cashier’s Office and show receipt to Music Department Office Staff to arrange for practice room times (if wanted).
Show receipt to appropriate individual to arrange for instrument locker and school instrument (or to renew) for quarter.
Prior to the quarterly registration cycle, check your email for applied music registration number and register by the last day of open enrollment. It is up to the student to contact the applied music instructor to establish lesson dates and times for the quarter. However, due to the fact that many of our applied music faculty come from out of the area, the Music Department staff will often facilitate the scheduling of lesson dates and times throughout the quarter. Contact the department office for lesson location(s).
Check list of ensemble assignments on bulletin boards outside Music Department Office Room 129, Rooms 216 and 218 and individual faculty member offices (if applicable).
Double-check your schedule through the Student Center on the Cal Poly Portal to make sure your schedule is accurate and that all changes have been reflected. The ADD/DROP period extends through the second week of each quarter. After that time, you will not be allowed to make any changes to your schedule. THIS IS THE STUDENT’S RESPONSIBILITY.
PolyPlanner is a required planning tool enabling students to select either their course choices or provide course demand data to Cal Poly, and departments use the information to determine their future course offerings. Students must log in at least once a quarter (login window is between the end of Add/Drop for the current term and the end of Add/Drop for the next term (excluding summer). Students are required to have the current and future two terms planned.
