Student Recitals

Each quarter the Music Department presents a series of student recitals. A student or ensemble is invited by the faculty to perform on these concerts. These recitals are generally held on selected Thursday mornings at 11:10 a.m. It is expected that all music majors will arrange their schedules to be able to attend and perform on these recitals. In consultation with the private instructor, a student participating in a recital is responsible for giving the details of each composition (including complete title, movements, precise timing and dates of composers’ lives) to the Music Department office no later than two weeks before the recital. Forms may be picked up from your applied music instructor or in the Music Department office. The Music Department will provide an accompanist for each student recital. If the performer wishes to use the departmental accompanist, s/he must indicate this on the recital form. It is the student’s responsibility to get the music to the accompanist at least two weeks before the recital, and to schedule rehearsals.

In consultation with an applied faculty member or music advisor, students can choose to perform a Junior Recital or a Music Minor Recital. Additional information and forms are available in the Music Department Office.
