Mustang Band Twirler Headed to Nationals
Tasha Taylor represented the Cal Poly Mustang Band in the National Baton Twirling Association California State Championships on Nov. 18, 2012, in Long Beach. Taylor competed in four categories: one baton, two baton, three baton, and strutting (women's age 16 and older). She won the preliminaries for all categories and won three out of four in the finals (first place in one, two, and three baton; and second place in strutting). Her performance in this competition provides her the opportunity to compete in the national competition to be held in July at the University of Notre Dame (Ind.). During nationals she will compete against other college twirlers for the title of collegiate champion.
