Welcome to the Cal Poly Music Department

An opportunity for 200 talented high school instrumental musicians to perform some of the finest music written, conducted by internationally acclaimed guest artists in a world-class concert hall! Festival Wind Orchestra, Jazz Band and Symphony. Apply to participate!

The symphony will be performing in the Kennedy Center in the spring, and could use your help! Your donation is greatly appreciated!

Applying for a Bachelor of Arts in Music

Application Guidelines and Required Materials

Please note: Qualifying applicants will be requested to submit an online supplemental application, around mid-January. If you meet Cal Poly's admissions selection criteria, you will be invited by the Music Department to audition either by submitting a demonstration/audition recording or by a live audition.

Fall 2012 auditions will be held on Saturday, February 4, and Sunday, February 12, 2012. Application guidelines and required materials follow. Also, go to the the Cal Poly Admissions Office Web page for more information about Cal Poly.

The following materials are for students who have already applied to Cal Poly as Music Majors for Fall 2012. Students should not submit until they have been notified by the Music Department that they are CSU eligible.
